The album is a tie-up between the successful duo Gulzar and Vishal Bharadwaj, who have previously created magic with their movies Maachis, Hu Tu Tu, Satya and Makdee. The numbers have been sung by Rekha in her mellifluous voice. The album features the poetry of Gulzar where he talks about divine love and worship keeping the Sufi thought as the base. The whole poetry has been given a very beautiful and contemporary feel by Vishal Bhardwaj. The mood of the whole album is that of soft and soul-stirring compositions sung by Rekha. There are eight compositions in this album capturing the various moods of human emotions. Great musicians have contributed and played in this album including Sultan Khan, Shiva Mani, Deepak Pandit and Rakesh Chaurasia.
